Apparently, over 400 firms joined the Halifax's new fixed-fee conveyancing panel in the first month of its launch. Work will be done on a 'no sale, no fee' basis, with fees otherwise being charged on the value of the property (£299 for less than £50,000; £1,750 if worth more than £2m). Plus, of course, all firms are paying referral fees to the Halifax. [2005] LSG 8 September 2.
