SDLT - HMRC bankers Print

A reminder that HMRC changed banks last year (it now banks with Citi and RBS). Thus, all the sort codes and account numbers have changed, although HMRC is temporarily continuing to accept payments to its old Bank of England account. Accordingly, it is important to check that your accounts department is set up to make payments into the right accounts. If not, a payment using the old bank details may be returned, and that could lead to an SDLT late payment (which in turn could lead to a late payment penalty, interest or surcharge).
