The LR will start destroying the original deeds and documents that it was holding in October 2003 (when LRA 2002 and LRR 2003 came into force).
Those documents will all have been scanned and the initial five-year period for requesting the return of such documents has expired. So, if you want the originals of documents and deeds then you should apply promptly (the fee is £8 per document).
