Suppose A has contracted to sell to B, but before completion B contracts
to sub-sell to C. What land charges search should C make? The answer
is that C will need to search against A’s title (because B is not the estate
owner). C should also search against B to check that B has not gone
bankrupt. Accordingly, the correct approach is to search against both A
