Mining – new CON 29M Print
A new CON 29M was introduced in October. The big change is that it now covers both coal mining enquiries and also Cheshire Brine Subsidence enquiries (which previously had to be made separately). Thus, there is now a single search covering both coal mining and brine subsidence claims, and there is no extra charge. The current insurance scheme for residential properties in relation to coal mining searches is extended to the brine subsidence claims as part of the search.

A revised and updated Coal Mining and Brine Subsidence Claims Searches Guide is being published this month. At the same time, do not forget the useful online address service (free) which will usually make it clear whether or not a search is required. See www.coalmining reports.co.uk. © Practical Lawyer
